Space Requirements in the University Library: A Blueprint for the Next Decade (2005)

Between January and October, 2004, a comprehensive review was conducted of public space in Mills, Innis and Thode Libraries. The study was conducted to, among other things:

accommodate significant increases in the number of students using the Library
establish a reasonable balance between collection, study, technology and service space
meet users' changing information needs and learning styles.

The final report, reflecting extensive campus consultation, is now available.

My Library Space: A Consultation with the Campus Community

On March 22, 2005 two consultation sessions were held with the campus community on the future use of public space in all campus libraries. The sessions focussed on the University Library's Public Space Utilization Study, the proposal for a Learning Commons in Mills Library and the planned renovation of the Health Sciences Library.
