Gregory Atkinson specializes in video, DVD, Flash and web development services. In the past he has worked for The United Church of Canada, The Greater Toronto Airports Authority, Amnesty International, Bristol-Myers Squibb and the City of Hamilton. With over 8 years experience in new media, his specialties include broadcast video production, DVD authoring, advanced imaging and open source web development. He holds a Combined Honours B.A in Multimedia and Communication Studies (Language) from McMaster University.

Alessandro is a pop culture junkie.
An extensive background in music and film has prepared him for the myriad of possibilities that the Lyons New Media Centre has to offer.
A decade spent working in a variety of capacities, in a variety of McMaster departments have also allowed him to hone his skills and build his relevant experience for this next exciting chapter in library evolution.
Chris McAllister

Chris McAllister has been working at McMaster since 2006 as a media specialist supervisor for the Science Media Lab. Chris specializes in computer and network support, e-learning course development, open-source web development, audio engineering and video production for the web, television, and live conferences. Chris has over 10 years experience in the IT industry, serving educational, legal, medical, and professional markets. Notable clients include: the Government of Canada, World Council of Churches, United Nations, and McMaster University. He holds a Combined Honours B.A in Multimedia and Communication Studies (Cultural Studies)

Main Responsibilities: Digital signage coordination and design, iTunes U administration, Library Accessibility Services assistant, Media Help Desk assistant, website editing/maintenance (Lyons' site & LAS), social media editor (Facebook, twitter & blog).
Main interests: Gaming (primarily PC-oriented, but also iPad/iPhone gaming, console gaming), social media & networking software, multimedia/new media, etc.
Movies: Sci-fi, fantasy, horror and action, primarily. Aliens/AVP/Predator series, Near Dark, Blade Runner, Harry Potter series, Star Wars, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Magrathea! Magrathea!), Constantine, Legend, Lord of the Rings series, and almost anything touched by Tim Burton. Oh... and zombie movies!
Music: Eclectic tastes ranging from Apocalyptica to Loreena McKennitt and Korn / NiN to gaming / movie soundtracks, Kodo drumming, etc.
TV: Almost anything on the Food Network. Her favourite "Doctor Who" is the 10th Doctor (David Tennant) and she is driven bonkers by Matt Smith's Doctor (11th).
Video Games: World of Warcraft. Left 4 Dead (zombies!!). Sam & Max episodes. Hidden object games. Zork -- "It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue."
If you happen to walk by the offices in Lyons, look for the desks that have toys on them. One is mine. I am a girl-geek and proud of it! I've even been spotted at Fan Expo in Toronto by some astute students! - Kelly

Ed joined Audio Visual Services in 1974, coming back full circle to Classroom Audio Visual Services and the Library in 2009 - after working in the Department of Art & Art History, the Art Gallery (now McMaster Museum of Art), the School of the Arts and Humanities Media & Computing.
Ed's duties are split between the Lyons New Media Centre - where he is learning the basics of computer gaming and the various computer editing programs available; and Library Services - assisting with circulation duties and offering research help to students and faculty.
