How do I automatically insert the file name and path into a document in Word 2007?

To insert the file name and path into the body of a Word document:

  • Click on the Insert tab
  • In the Text group, click Quick Parts
  • from the drop-down, choose Field
  • in the dialog box, under Categories, choose Document Information
  • under Field names, select FileName
  • on the right of the dialog box, under Field Options, check the box beside Add path to filename
  • click OK

Unfortunately, Powerpoint seems to have been left out on this. Looks like the only way to accomplish something similar is with a VBA macro. Hope that helps!
