Scholars Portal and WizFolio are pleased to offer the OCUL community a new web-based citation management application on a no-risk trial basis.
Canadian Case Law Access: Update & Trial
Several Canadian case law sources are no longer available via our LexisNexis subscription. They include:
- All Canada Weekly Summary & Judgments
- All Canadian Digests (multiple source file)
- Canadian Criminal Cases
- Canadian Labour Arbitration Summaries & Judgments
- Canadian Patent Reporter
- Caselaw Canada (multiple source file)
- Dominion Law Reports
- Labour Arbitration Cases
- Weekly Criminal Bulletin & Judgments
During the next two weeks, the Library will have temporary online access to these and other titles via BestCase, a Canada Law Book database. Trial access will expire on April 22, 2008. During this time, the Library will be assessing how to best provide long-term access to such sources. If you'd like to provide feedback, please contact Janice Adlington, e-Resources Librarian.

Trial Extended: Henry Stewart Talks: The Biomedical and Life Sciences Collection, until April 30th
The Health Sciences Library is running a trial of a new resource: Henry Stewart Talks: The Biomedical and Life Sciences Collection.
This resource is a collection of over 700 seminar style talks geared towards research scientists, graduate students and advanced undergraduates. All of the seminars have been specially commissioned by leading scientists and are presented in a format of animated slides with synchronized narration.
Please take a look at this new resource and give us feedback through the Recommend to your Librarian form accessible from within the trial website (3rd option in blue-only; takes 60 seconds) or simply send an e-mail to thomall@mcmaster.ca with your feedback and contact details.
The Biomedical and Life Sciences Collection is constantly being expanded and updated and the current trial provides access from March 1st to April 30th, 2008.

HRAF Anthropology and Ethnography Collections on trial
The eHRAF Collection of Archaeology is a Web-based, full-text database with information on prehistory of the world. This database is unique in that the paragraphs are indexed with subject index codes for quick and precise retrieval of information. The eHRAF Collection of Archaeology provides researchers and students access to archaeological materials for comparative studies.
The eHRAF Collection of Ethnography is a unique cross-cultural database with full-text ethnographies that are subject-indexed at the paragraph-level for precise retrieval of information on all aspects of cultural and social life. These materials are relevant to the various social science disciplines as well as the humanities and health sciences.
