Canadian Union of Public Employees. Local 5167 (Hamilton, Ont.) fonds. 1973-2007; predominant 1990-2007. – 1.36 m of textual records, sound recordings, and moving images.

Local 5167 consists of seven units, from DARTS, Macassa and Wentworth Lodges, Royal Botanical Gardens, Good Shepherd Centres, Hamilton International Airport and the City of Hamilton with both outside and inside working groups. This Local came about from the merger of the working groups from Town of Dundas, Town of Stoney Creek, Town of Flamborough, Town of Glanbrook, City of Hamilton, Hamilton International Airport and the organizing of Good Shepherd Centres –Women’s Services in early 2000. Union members of this local previously belonged to either Local 5 or Local 167.

There have been two accruals. The first accrual contains material from before the merger of the two locals and after the merger. See also Local 5 and Local 167 fonds. The accrual has been arranged into four series: committees, issues and topics; correspondence; books by and information about Ed Thomas; appointment diaries, audio cassettes, video cassette. The second accrual consists of correspondence, reports, and printed materials.

Title based on content of fonds.
The first accrual (17-2004) was acquired in June 2004, the second (48-2007) in the summer of 2007, both from Edward Thomas.

There are no access restrictions.
Further accruals are expected.
