Box 10 Sorabji audio reels 
All the audio reels retain the original numbering given by Frank Holliday who was responsible for creating most of these recordings. All these originals containing works by K.S.S. or programme relating to his work have been copied onto cassette tape for easier use by researchers.

Where dates are given thus: [16/9/64?] they have been taken from annotations on the audio reel box but they may or may not refer to the date of recording since Frank Holliday frequently checked and replayed the audio reels and made notes both on the boxes and on slips inserted inside them. The microfilms (2 identical copies) are entitled Kaikhosru Shapurji Sorabji:Collected Writings from Five Serial Publications, compiled by Paul Rapoport and Kenneth Derus with an introduction by Paul Rapoport, July 1977. The films have been issued by the Joseph Regenstein Library at the University of Chicago. The five serials from which material has been collected, all published in London, are as follows:

F.1      Early photograph showing Sorabji, wearing a dark jacket buttoned to the neck, in profile facing right. The photographer was Hugh Cecil of London and he has signed the bottom right corner of the mount. It is inscribed by Sorabji to Norman [Peterkin] and dated "13-2-28". This photograph was originally framed and Peterkin has written on the back of the panel as follows: "No. 49A". "This photo of 13/2/38 [sic] of my oldest friend Kaikhosru Shapurji Sorabji is to go to my friends Edward Nairn and Ian Watson jointly, along with the later photo of 1932 by Howard Costa, No.49b, as part of the collection of my "sorabjiana" already passed to them (November 1974). N.P." Holliday has added a note of his own: "Given to me-- at my request, November 1985 by E. & I. Frank Holliday".Black & white, 18.5 x 23.5 cm., with mount 26 x 36 cm. Also back panel from original frame with inscriptions above.

F.2      Early photograph of Sorabji with his left hand on his cheek. The photographer wasHoward Coster of London and he has signed the bottom right edge of the photograph. It is inscribed and annotated on the white cardboard mount by Sorabji as follows: "To my dear friend Frank Holliday who combines generosity of heart depth of sensibility and keenness of perception to an extent that is rare indeed in these days of Total Eunuchism: with many affectionate regards from Kaikhosru Shapurji Sorabji. XIX/VII/MCMXLI." [i.e. 19 July 1941]. To the right of the inscription the composer has transcribed the opening notes of Galistan.  Black and white, 20 x 27cm., with mount 34 x 45 cm.

 F.3      Photograph of Sorabji; head and shoulders in profile with the subject, wearing a darkjacket buttoned at the left side, facing to the right. The photographer is not identified; Frank Holliday refers to this portrait as "The Sicilian One". It is inscribed by Sorabji as follows: "To dear Frank Holliday for whose untiring friendship, support and affection I cannot begin to express what I owe. Bless him in aeternitatem. K. (Kaikhosru Shapurji Sorabji.)" Frank Holliday has noted on the back of the photograph: "received from K. in January, 1974". Black and white, the image is 16.5 x 21.5 cm., with mount 25 x 36 cm.

F.5      Photograph of Sorabji in old age; sitting at his desk reading, head and shoulders in profile, with a window behind him. The photographer is unidentified. It is inscribed by Sorabji as follows: "Gord! Aint it oful!!! Much love to you two dears. K. VI. VIII.MCMLXXVII" [i.e. 6 August 1977]. Frank Holliday has noted on the back of the photograph "Received from K. on August 12th. 1977". Black and white, the image is 24.5 x 19cm., with mount 30 x 25cm.
